Education

Students in Clarks Summit attend class in the Abington Heights School District. There are four public schools in the borough, one high, one middle and two elementary schools: Abington Heights High School, Abington Heights Middle School, Clarks Summit Elementary School, and Newton-Ransom School. Clarks Summit also has five private schools: Fundamental Baptist Academy, Lourdesmont School, Summit Baptist Academy, St. Gregorys E.C.C. and The Baptist High School Inc. Postsecondary education is found at Marywood University, University of Scranton or Lackawanna College, all in nearby Scranton, or Pennsylvania State University in Dunmore.

Recreation

Clarks Summit has several trails great for hiking, mountain biking and sightseeing. Residents can take advantage of gathering places such as the Waverly Community House or the Newton Recreation Center. Teens can do so at the Abington Youth Center. A popular spot for locals is also the Glen Oak Country Club. Residents will also utilize nearby South Abington Township for recreational reasons; it is home to the Birchwood Tennis & Fitness Club, as well as the Lahey Family Fun Park, an amusement park with miniature golf, bumper boats, go-karts, batting cages and more.
